'the bedlam in goliath' out today!!!

the mars volta release their new album the bedlam in goliath today, and i can't wait 'til 4:00 rolls around so i can get the heck out of work and to the music store! woo hoo!!!!!! i have only heard a few songs off of this album so far. i have been strong in holding off listening to the whole thing 'til i have the album in my hand. i understand it will be well worth the wait though.



there are several b-sides that they recorded to coincide with the release of this album, which are available on different import releases. all that i have run across are cover tunes by the likes of siouxsie and the banshees, the circle jerks, the sugarcubes, pink floyd, nick drake, and soft machine. i have heard all but the last two, and i must say, they all work. the versatility of these guys is amazing.

so, nobody call me for the next 3 weeks or so, because i won't hear the phone ringing. the air guitar will be a-blazin', the head will be a-bangin', and the high notes i will be a-shriekin'!
